Poor children trapped in failing schools do not have [choices].

I am a 68-year-old independent voter that had the benefit of public and private education experiences for myself and my grown children. For more than 20 years, it has been abundantly clear to me that children of wealth and privilege have choices and opportunities that poor children trapped in failing schools do not have. In my opinion, teachers’ unions are largely responsible for most of this issue because they’ve been very effective at watering down standards and accountability. This reality is unjust and must be addressed for the future of these children and our country.
